The People Behind the Network

Latino Business Leaders Building Baltimore From the Inside Out.

Five Latino co-founders. One community. Building the space Baltimore was missing.

How We Got Here

This Wasn't a Business Plan. It Was a Conversation.

Colado Latino Network wasn't launched from a pitch deck. It grew out of relationships that were already there. Amy, Willis, Jesus, Thiara, and Nisael found each other through photography work, creative projects, and shared community in the Baltimore area. The org was built from the inside out.

Amy had spent years covering niche networking events as a photographer and creative director. The rooms were good. But she kept asking: where's the one for us? That question became Colado. She brought in the people who were already close, and it started.

Baltimore already had the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, cultural festivals, and business resource programs. What it was missing: a real gathering place for Latino business leaders and entrepreneurs. Somewhere to make actual friendships, share what's working, and turn those relationships into real opportunity. That space didn't exist in Maryland. So they built it.

The first event at Bodega & Vino sold out. A hundred percent of attendees said they'd come back. Two Spanish-dominant guests, a construction owner and a real estate agent, made the connections they needed that night. The team called it proof of concept. They called it the first chapter.

All five are still running their own businesses. Colado is not a pivot. It is what they do together because Baltimore's Latino community needed it and nobody else was doing it.

Questions About the Network

Who is behind Colado Latino Network, how it started, and how to be part of it. If your question is not here, reach out through the contact form below and one of the founders will get back to you.

Who founded Colado Latino Network?
Colado was founded by five Latino co-founders in Baltimore: Amy, Willis, Jesus, Thiara, and Nisael. They found each other through photography work, creative projects, and shared community, and built the network from the inside out.
How did Colado Latino Network start?
It was not launched from a pitch deck. It grew out of relationships that were already there. Amy had spent years covering networking events as a photographer and creative director, and kept asking the same question: where is the one for us? That question became Colado.
Where is Colado Latino Network based?
Baltimore, Maryland. Colado is rooted here, and its events are hosted at Latino-owned businesses across the city, from Locust Point wine bars to Remington coffee shops to downtown restaurants.
How is Colado different from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce?
Baltimore already had the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, cultural festivals, and business resource programs. What it was missing was a real gathering place for Latino business leaders to make actual friendships, share what is working, and turn those relationships into opportunity. Colado is that space, not a formal institution but a community.
Do I have to be a business owner to be part of Colado?
No. Colado is for Latino entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals, whether you own a business, help run one, or are just getting started. If you are building something in Baltimore, there is a place for you.
How can I meet the team and get involved?
The best way is to come to an event. You can also list your business in the directory, get paired through Colado Connects, or reach out through our contact page. We read every message.
What is Colado trying to build?
The space Baltimore was missing: somewhere Latino business leaders and entrepreneurs can find each other, build real friendships, and turn those relationships into real opportunity. It started with one sold-out room at Bodega and Vino, and it keeps growing one gathering, one introduction, and one Latino-owned venue at a time.
Who exactly is Colado Latino Network for?
The Latino community in Baltimore, however you connect to it. Founders, freelancers, shop owners, creatives, and professionals are all part of the room. You do not need a title or a finished business plan, just a real desire to build alongside your gente.
Can my business sponsor or partner with Colado?
Yes. Colado works with businesses that want to support the Latino community in Baltimore, from hosting a gathering to sponsoring one. If that is you, start on our sponsorship page or reach out through our contact page.
How do I stay in the loop on what Colado is doing?
Follow us on Instagram at @colado.network and on Eventbrite, where we announce new events first. You can also join the business directory or get matched through Colado Connects to stay close to the community.
