How Colado Connects Works

One real introduction, made by hand. What happens before and after you submit your profile.

What is Colado Connects?

Colado Connects is a community matching program. You submit a short profile and we pair you with one person in the Colado network for a single, intentional conversation, virtual or in person. It is a way to keep a connection going or make a brand new one.

Do I need to have been to a Colado event to join?

No. Colado Connects is open to anyone in the community, whether you have been to one of our events or you’re brand new to the network. If you are Latino and building something in Baltimore, you belong here.

How does the matching actually work?

We review every submission by hand. There’s no algorithm, just us going through the profiles and finding the person in the network who makes the most sense for you right now, based on what you are building and what kind of connection would move the needle.

Is the match virtual or in person?

Whatever works for the two of you. Coffee, a call, or meeting up at the next event. We make the introduction and hand it off. From there it’s yours.

What does it cost?

Nothing. There is no cost to submit your profile or to get matched. Like everything Colado does, Colado Connects is built for the community, not to sell you something.

How long until I get matched?

Colado Connects is in early access. We are collecting profiles now and will start making matches once we have enough members. Submit yours now and you will be among the first matched when we launch. We reach out personally by email when your match is ready.

What information do you ask for?

A short form, about five minutes. It covers what you’re building, what you do, and the kind of connection you’re looking for. The more you share, the better the match.

Is the form in Spanish?

Yes. The Colado Connects form is bilingual, so you can fill it out in English or en Español, whichever you’re most comfortable with.

Can Connects help me if I already know people in the network?

Yes. Connects isn’t only for newcomers. Plenty of people use it to go deeper with someone they met at an event, or to finally reach the one person in the network they have not crossed paths with yet. Either way, we make the introduction intentional.
