Legal
Privacy Policy
Colado Latino Network ("Colado," "we," "us") wants you to know exactly how we handle your information, without legal fog. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
1. Who We Are
Colado Latino Network is a Baltimore-based organization connecting Latino entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals. We operate this website at coladonetwork.com and related services including the Colado Connects matching program and the Latino Business Directory.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Colado Connects form: name, email address, profession, industry, professional goals, LinkedIn profile, and consent to be matched.
- Business Directory submission: business name, owner name, business category, description, website URL, phone number, Instagram handle, address, and an optional logo image.
- Contact form: name, email address, and message content.
- Event registrations: name and email address, processed through third-party event platforms (Eventbrite).
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): page views, session duration, traffic sources, device type, and general geographic location (city/country level). No personally identifiable information is sent to GA4.
- Google Tag Manager (GTM): we use GTM to manage analytics and tracking scripts in one place. GTM itself doesn’t collect data independently.
- Meta Pixel: we use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our outreach and to reach relevant audiences on Facebook and Instagram. The Pixel collects information about actions taken on our site and may associate that with your Facebook profile if you are logged in. It only loads if you accept cookies; see section 5.
- Google Search Console (GSC): aggregated data about how our site appears in Google Search results. No individual user data is collected through GSC.
- Cookies and local storage: we use cookies for session management (keeping you logged in), analytics, and advertising measurement.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your business listing in the directory
- To match you with other community members through Colado Connects
- To send transactional emails (listing approved, match introductions, magic sign-in links) via Resend
- To respond to contact form submissions
- To understand how people find and use our website so we can improve it
- To measure the reach of our community outreach through Meta
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with third parties except as described in this policy.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
- Supabase: database and authentication hosting. Your account credentials and submitted data are stored here.
- Resend: transactional email delivery. Used to send listing confirmations, Connects match emails, and sign-in links.
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager: website analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and anonymized session replays, only if you accept cookies.
- Meta Pixel: advertising and outreach measurement.
- Netlify: website hosting and deployment.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: spam and bot protection on our forms. It checks that a submission comes from a real person. It doesn’t track you across other websites.
- Eventbrite: event ticketing. When you register for an event, Eventbrite's own privacy policy applies.
5. Cookies, Tracking, and Your Choices
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies used for analytics and advertising measurement. Nothing on this site requires you to accept. If you decline, the site works exactly the same.
What loads before you choose
- Strictly necessary only. Session cookies that keep you signed in, and Cloudflare Turnstile on our forms. These are required for the site to function and are not used to track you.
- The Meta (Facebook) Pixel doesn’t load at all until you press Accept. If you never answer the banner, or you decline, it never loads.
- Microsoft Clarity works the same way: it doesn’t load at all until you press Accept. If you accept, it shows us anonymized heatmaps and session replays so we can see where a page confuses people, and it masks anything you type into a form before it leaves your browser.
- Google Analytics follows Google Consent Mode. If you’re in California, Canada, the UK, or the EEA, analytics storage is denied by default until you accept. Elsewhere it is enabled by default, and declining turns it off.
Changing your mind
You can change your answer at any time.
You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, or use your browser's Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control signal.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your listing or Connects profile is active. If you request deletion, we’ll remove your data from our systems within 30 days. Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at elcoladonetwork@gmail.com.
If you are in California
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, using the Meta Pixel to measure our outreach can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. Declining the cookie banner, or pressing Decline in cookie settings, opts you out of that sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services aren’t directed at anyone under 13 years of age. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will note the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
